-1 in 19:25 . Don't know how you guys shoot 8-10 down running. How was the course layed out when you played Evan? Was 7 & 10 moved? I had 4 bogeys(1,5,7,16), due to some horrible putting !! Just about aced hole 8, was laying against the pole when I got there. When I get to the basket my friggin heart is coming through my chest and I'm a little shakey. I try to take a second to take a good deep breath, but that just doesn't seem to cut it. I haven't been smoking cigs for some time now, so hopefully it will get a little better. Do you guys start fast and mellow out towards the end or vice versa? I start a little fast at the beginning and mellow towards the end. Perhaps I should try the opposite to see if my score improves. I gotta say I really enjoy flying through the course ;D. It's funny to see how people look at you as you come blazing through teeing off at full sprint . Adios

Ran 2 rounds today !! Round one shot even 54 with something like 4-5 bogeys . Can't seem to get off the bogey train. Ran it in 20:22 slow poke speed, tried starting mellow and working my way up; didn't happen. Round 2 -4, 50 in 19:16 !!! Haulin poopy the whole way. I even went ob on 10 had to play my shot, run up and jump the crik, and then come back to play my bogey putt. Had 3-4 bogeys this round, I was +2 going into eleven and tagged that baskets cage ;D. Man I want an ace on a speed round. I still don't see how you guys shoot as far down as you do, while still making really good time. I have been playing 13 from in between the trees at the sidewalk and 14 deep back down by the parking spaces. There was also a 10-15 mph wind, with an occasional 20 or so gust.

-4 in 19:16 ! Yeah boy! That's a good time. Beats my best time by a minute. So how do we compare scores now? If we subtract 15 seconds for every stroke under par... then your (-4 in 19:16) is a dead tie with my (-8 in 20:16). Or if we said 10 seconds per stroke, then yours beats mine by 20 seconds, or 2 strokes. Hmmm... I don't care for that much... gotta rig this so I'm in the lead somehow... jk. Good shootin!

I'm impressed with your hustle, Jeff. Especially given your recent departure from the world of lung torture. Do you guys haul your big bags around on fast rounds?

I think 15 sec/stroke for like Edora and Boltz. 10 sec for Laporte and maybe 20 for Red Feathers and Estes.

No friggin way do I carry a bag ;D!! I've been carrying a 1st run Star Destroyer, FLX Buzzz, and a Warlock putter. I think if I hadn't of gone OB on 10 I would have come in about a minute quicker. Jumping that crik after running 9 1/2 holes is brutal, I guess that just getting back across is the hard part . If I can have a couple of my putts fall in, instead of bouncing out, I could get closer to 8 or 10 down . I agree with Pat that 15 sec/stroke for Edora and Boltz, along with 10 sec/stroke for Laporte, etc. I definitely enjoy these speed rounds, it's great for me cause I'm always in a hurry in the mornings to get to work.

+5 in 67:45. Yeah, I was flying. I'll bet i could have done even better if I slowed down a little.

Jeff et al. How do your best speed round/three disc scores compare to your slow round/big bag scores? Does it make you reexamine how many discs you haul around? I started thinking about it when I first heard people talk about the back pain and awkwardness with their heavy bags and ensuing debates about special straps and double straps.....
By the way, nice round Rich. That might be the new benchmark score for smokers! This Game is about havin' fun. Make it too serious and you might as well be at work!

I have definitely reconsidered the amount of discs I carry in my bag since I've begun these speed rounds. My scores are still inconsistent whether I have 3 or 15 discs with me. I'll still shoot +4 and then the next round I'll shoot -7, that's why I still play in the am division. I now carry no more the 12-15 discs with me. That only changes depending on the course I'm playing. If it's a course that has a greater potential for losing discs, then I'll carry duplicate discs in my bag in case of loss. I've been contemplating only carrying a few discs during Grateful, haven't made up my mind yet. You know the saying that all you really need is one disc to play disc golf is quite a revealing statement. I don't necessarily agree with it, but it is true. I just can't putt with a driver, unless it's my second putt, when I've just missed with my putter .

Ran a speed round at CLP a little bit ago, and man was it cold. Got -4(23) in 4:40 !!! Birdied the first 4 holes and that was that, par all the way home ! Touhey, you'll love this, I played two more "walking rounds" afterward and shot a clean even !

too much thinking kills you in any sport. playing fast forces your instincts to take over. Cheers
