I know it might be a little late, but I just was thinkin' 'bout the SuperBowl Scramble and how nothing's been posted about it. Last year we had around 10 guys show up. Maybe that's not enough to support it and why we're not doing it this year? The weather was way worse last year than it looks to be this year, and 10 still showed up and had a good time. Anyone know what's up? If noone wants to scramble, I'm still gonna try and get a round in before the game. Anyone else want to still try to put it together, or at least get a tag match goin'?

The way I understand it, we just need someone to run the event. We've been focusing our energy on the monthlies, among other things, and hadn't made it a big priority for this season.
I had a blast last year, and SO much fun the previous year. If someone wants to run it, count me in! It's really a unique event, so I'd hate to see it fade out of existence. When else is heckling encouraged in a round of disc golf? ;D

Anyone remember the format? I played last year, but forget the rules/details. Well, w/ the timing being so short, I'm not sure if we can get enough to show. So, if you're going to play Sunday, why don't we just meet at a set time and if there are enough to do the scramble, we'll scramble. If not, hopefully we can at least do tags. The game's at 4:30. 10AM start time should be sufficient. Chime in if you plan on playing this Sunday, so we have an idea of the #'s.

I'm in...
The format was to designate team captains (AFC and NFC), who then pick teams from the players there. Then the captains seed players from their team against opponents from the other team. You go out, play a round in a foursome with the player you were seeded against and another pairing. You go hole for hole against your opponent (2pt for a won hole, 1 points for a tie none for a loss), but are earning points for your "team".
Everyone on your and other holes heckles you when you putt and drive, cheering for you or against you depending on which team you are on. At the end the points earned from each pairing are tallied for their teams, and the winning team is declared.
Entry was 10 bucks last year, and the winning team took 20 per player home.
This is what I remember, some may be incorrect.
Anyone else in on this? If not, I'll play for tags.

Wow, An amazing turnout for a last minute decision to hold this event! 16 players total, 8 per team. NFC won by 2 points. Score: 18 NFC to 16 AFC I was wrong on the format, too. Actual scoring method was 1 point for a won hole, none for a tie or for a loss. We opted to play a doubles format this year, which meant two people from each team played best disc to try to win the hole. (Heckling was encouraged, though ) Fun times! Thanks for motivating to make it happen Ocho!
