Since I didn't make it to Choice City, I really shouldn't say much. But, it does seem ironic to me that after endless debate about how leagues are planned at the last minute, we have a tournament that gets planned one week out. Obviously it worked though!
Seems like one could start planning an events calendar for next year, right now. Maybe set a goal of having three spring and summer events planned by the end of this calendar year. If they need to be changed a little, so be it. But something in the works is a lot easier to build on than the disc golf equivalent of a wish sandwich.

Choice City was not run by NCDGC, it was run by Chris Garrow from the Wright Life. We did assist him with what we could, of course!
We do have an advance calendar of upcoming events that we are working on. Generally, the dates don't get finalized till a month or two before the event. The reason for this is there are many events going on around the state as well, and we try not to have conflicting tournaments if possible.

"Choice City was not run by NCDGC, it was run by Chris Garrow from the Wright Life"
Precisely why I wanted to make sure I didn't come across as critical of the event or of Chris. The irony stands though. It's a testament to Chris's talents that he made it happen. I'm definitely in awe at how things do in fact happen so well in general. People are psyched to play, period.
My only point is that if good things can happen with minimal planning, imagine what can happen with loads of planning!
Again, admittedly, this is me functioning in the present, in a vaccum, with no knowledge of club activities other than whats right in front of my face. Every day, I see that there are more layers to the onion. I just see things, suggest ideas, and welcome others to correct me or shoot me down or dispise me. Cheers to all.
