Nothing is really ridiculous about this, I don't think. Noone said we should model our club after MHDGC. If you look he was just saying to possibly sponsor some tourneys and get our name out there. I think if anything we should work on getting our own sanctioned tourneys, but we need more members to get their TD cert. which I myself am looking to do next year. I do believe that for a while Brandon was keeping stats, but I'm not sure, I can't and won't speak for him. Noone has ever been made to pay, you can show up any time and just play for tags, in fact I've done that on Tuesday Nite League, and that is our "real league." I always thought that we collected money for the club on Sundays, that's kinda silly if we don't, but then again, I don't run the league and it's really not for me to say. The ace pool I thought was kept and passed on to the person that was subbing in for the day. I guess in the grand scheme of things I should stay out of this, due to my lack of attendance, but I loved Sunday leagues last year(and the few I've played this year). We had good attendance more than half the time and I don't understand what happened. Maybe, it's because it was always at Edora? Mile High is definitely a great model for a club, however, Mile High we are not and most likely won't be. This in my opinion is not a bad thing, it's just difficult to make things happen with so few dedicated people. There are plenty of players in and around the Fort to get things going, it's just some don't have the time and or will to do it, which is totally understandable. We're getting down to the wire on Tuesdays(time change), and I think that sunday is a great day to get out and play competitive disc golf with friends, no real expectations, just hopes. Finally, I love the experience of an ace, yes it's personally a satisfying thing, but who wouldn't/doesn't enjoy the little cash bonus, whether all on the card pay out 5 or the league pays out 25+ dollars. Ace is an Ace is an Ace, they all feel good.

Now, this is ridiculous!!! We have got to find a common ground. This is not a personal attack forum and it's not a whining session either. I agree discussion is a key component to getting things done, but when does it turn into action!! Whether anyone has been insulted and or offended by certain threads, there is no need to get personal and/or threaten. Opinions are like a**holes, everyone's got one, some of them stink!!! However, we all have a right to express them. Discussion will only get the club so far and this type of discussion will ruin us, so it's time to STOP!!!!! I'm sorry OCHO, but I don't know how you're solving anything. I'm in no way saying that what you are saying is wrong, just maybe the way it is said. Some people do consider Sunday Leagues a League, and may have taken offense to prior thread. It's been around for the few years that I've been playing, and I see no real need to end it, it just needs some TLC. I think some of the ideas you have are good ideas, but they are just that, ideas. That's where I come from when I say action is what is needed, ideas are useless w/out action. I agree, we should do tag nites/days at various courses, but someone still has to run those, so who's it gonna be? People will have to step up, and I'm not saying it has to be you but someone has to do it! Believe me I understand everyone has a life outside of dg, but when some of us have an idea we act on it to see if it works. If it doesn't then we move on and discuss other options, and the act on them. This is my opinion, maybe it stinks, but it's factual. I hope I haven't offended you by addressing you personally, these are as I said just my opinion.

How about we keep the discussion on this thread relevant to ways to improve Sunday Leagues, and any personal issues to a separate topic. It's become difficult to sort out the parts that are relevant to Sunday league from the personal comments.
Please, everyone, try to word your posts in a way that can't be misconstrued as personally offensive. This is not easy, so if a comment is taken wrong, please apologize immediately. The forum can be many things, including a place to trash-talk in an appropriate manner, but let's keep these things in their own areas.
Also, to all users of this forum, please understand that this forum does reflect on our club, our sport, etc. We need to keep language, pictures, topics, etc. appropriate. Anyone can read this forum, including possible sponsors, land owners considering a course, city/county officials, and so on. We try very hard to make a good impression on these folks, despite our bad reputation. I would hate to see something like our own forum shoot us in the foot and ruin any progress we might have made.
Thanks everyone, now back to the Sunday "League" discussion...

I know from playing tags down there that there is typically someone(one person) in charge. I played Westy and maybe that's a rare case but Pastor Keith seemed to be the man in charge of things(he has now moved and I don't know who is running things). Perhaps I'm wrong and if so then that's fine. In order to run effecient leagues, tags or whatever the club needs someone to take responsibility and keep things in order, ie letting webmaster know of changes in tags person to person. I'm pretty sure that they have a system that is followed with their tag nites/days. Honestly, I can't say for sure. I'm just going off my one time down there.

i think its a good idea to all get together for a meeting soon and discuss Sunday Leagues as well as looking at our options for next years tags. I personally think its great that you all feel so passionately about leagues.
