Does anyone know when signs and map will be ready here? No hurries, just curious if it had been done. I am looking forward to playing a new course.

The signs are being designed right now. An updated map with the new hole order and updated distances (courtesy of King Surveyors) is being put together by the Town of Windsor. We might get the map today - I'll try to get this on the website as soon as it is ready. We would also like to eventually get a welcome/info board similar to the one at Edora, but we'll see if anyone wants to construct! Thanks - the course is progressing!

There are now links to the Oxbow map and scorecard on the homepage, as well as directions to the entrance of the Oxbow Natural Area! Have fun everyone, and tread lightly on this great piece of land the Town of Windsor is has allowed us to enjoy!

Oxbow Course Work Day
This Saturday at 9:00am there will be a work day at the new Oxbow Course in Windsor, CO. We will be finishing anchoring the teepad logs with rebar, installing the ob line on holes 2 and 3, re-raking and compacting the teepads and possibly installing bag hooks at each tee, as well as general clean up. The more people we get down there, the more time we all have to play afterward, so bring a friend or two!

. Thanks for the plug KC, all who may come, one goal is to get barb wire removed from #12 and possibly along #2, so if you are up for the challenge bring some good gloves and snipers

What up blasters- sorry I couldn't make it out for the work day last Sat. I had to work, but I'm sure there will be more days in the future to help out.
On a side note, I was out at the course and after playing the regular course twice I decided to play some alternate safari holes and was wondering what others think of the holes I played and if there are any suggestions of a better way to play 6 holes, aka 13-18 to make a "complete 18" layout? I had fun and these 6 holes could really challenge any player and force one to hit their birdies early in the round.
Hole 13: Tee off from hole 1 to basket #2
Hole 14: Tee from hole 3 to #8 basket
I think this next hole that I played could be change
Hole 15: Tee from hole 10 to #4 basket -(Still trying to figure out a better flow or hole and thought it might be better to play from 7's tee to basket 3 and then playing from 4's tee pad to 10's basket, but I think this would make it more like a 20 hole course this way)
Hole 16: Tee from hole 5 to #6 basket
This requires a small walk back to the tee pad of 6 and could possibly replaced with playing tee pad of 7 to basket of hole 3 ...but this is what I played
Hole 17: Tee from hole 6 to #9 basket
Hole 18: Tee from hole 11 to #12 basket
Please let me know what you think of this layout. I tried to use the existing tee pads to make things easier but I'm sure that some serious alternate holes could be planned using new tee pads/angles. Hopefully some of you try this layout. -Blast on

Those are some challenging holes...I'll have to try that setup.
Here is another option that keeps a good flow with the existing teepads:
1 to 2 basket 3 to 7 4 to 11 5 to 3 8 to 9 11 to 12

Oxbow parking FYI: Windsor police are going to start giving parking tickets if you park at the end of the road by hole #1. This has not been enforced before, but since there are a lot more cars parking there now - they want to make sure emergency vehicles can turn around. The officer told me that the dirt lot just to the north was ok, as is the lot for the dog park/skate park. Or, you can park on the other side of the bridge, which is probably the shortest walk to the first hole. Thanks

Anybody know if oxbow is still under water? Jacqui really liked the course but last time we were out 2 holes were completely unplayable, and it has rained/flooded since.

I went and looked at it a few days ago, and it was much better, but it smelled like the zoo!

I played the course today, and it was completely dry, but make sure you bring your bug spray and watch out for the ants and snakes.

just an open letter if anyone on this forum has been playing glow golf at oxbow please take the time to pick up the glow sticks after the round. I picked up mutiple glow sticks on every hole today as well as two bags of garbage and beer bottles throughout the course. dont ruin the course for the rest of us. just make a stipulation that the person with the worst score should pick up the glow sticks. as for the garbage and beer bottles there is no excuse there are trash cans on hole 7 just save your trash instead of littering the course. i love oxbow and just dont want the city of windsor to think they made a bad choice putting the course in.
