There's been a lot of talking about just playing for tags on Sunday instead of leagues. I want to make it clear that I'm not totally opposed to the idea(although it may seem like that in other threads). There are a few issues that need to be addressed on this subject. To play tags you must purchase one, who will be at the tag matches to sell them? The talk of tag play not costing anything is incorrect, however a tag will be around with a player alot longer than their 5 dollar donation. Plus it too, is Promo for the club. This means someone will have to run things, get the webmaster the updated tag list from the day, and get the money collected for tags to the Secretary in a timely matter. I don't know about you guys, but I'd love to see the tag list updated a little better(not taking a stab at the webmaster). As of now I understand it's hard to track. In my opinion, those who are so diehard about having tag matches instead of leagues need to come forward and offer their time and/or just get the ball rolling. Maybe just do some test runs to see how folks like it. I know of noone in the club who would have an issue with that. As it has been stated, those who like to play for money can always play skins or throw down a set amount of dough for the whole round. Whatever floats your boat. Instead of all of us(myself included)complaining and pointing out all the problems, we need to begin to offer solutions. We definitely have some passionate players who could take time to contribute instead of complain(again, myself included). My suggestion, when we have free time let's take action. So get off the forum and get on the course ;D ;D!!!!! Hope to see all of ya out there

Okay, first off you are not the only one who has voiced an interest in just doing tag matches. So, I will now address you directly, since you want to argue. You have made it more than clear you are not willing to give the club your time unless you are rewarded for it. I find it insulting and disrespectful the way you have addressed me and in no way is this serving the good of the club. I wrote the prior thread in a more than respectful tone ie no caps, which are typically construed as yelling. I also will stand firm in my belief that without people offering solutions, then taking action, nothing will ever get done and the club will dissolve into nothing. We will not be able to move forward if everyone carries your type of attitude, ie "I'm NOT going to come forward and offer my time." I know we had our differences on the way the artwork for the club should have been handled, and I feel that you personally and professionally insulted me. I guess I still hold somewhat of a grudge. In my defense, I am the one who stepped up and said "We should get Johnson a jersey with the number 85 on it, cause he did a great job and I gave him alot of crap." This was my way of extending the peace pipe, per se. I never once heard anything in regards to this from you and I know it was said to you at the Summer League Final Nite. I see you as a taker and not a giver. You take all you can get and then point fingers at those who do things for the club and this is very conterproductive. If the club leadership won't step in and ask you to mellow out, I will. I honestly believe you have some really valid points and ideas, and we as a club need people like you to step up and help every so often. You make it out like I'm saying you have to dedicate any and all free time you have to the club, and this is just not the case. I will say I'm sorry to all for participating in all this bickering, but I will not apologize to you. If you look at all the threads that have negative things in them you are on a majority of them, if not all. I'm right there with you too, and that is kinda embarrassing. You have alot to say but little to back it up. You say "LET IT BE KNOWN...I keep it REAL!!!"where's the proof in that? All you have done is talk, I say it's time for you to take action. I want to reiterate I really do think you have some great ideas that could really benefit the club and discgolf, but they are useless without action. To address your thread, I have to say you are missing my point, also. I understand that tags can run themselves. I just think it would be good outreach to have someone(doesn't have to be one) there representing the club and being a spokesman for the club. Where do you come from with freeing us "ALL" from these burdens, what burdens has all this caused you? I also think it would be nice if a newbie came up and was able to play for tags immediately instead of having to a)track Brandon down b)wait for the snail mail to deliver it. How many people will actually post their tag, in a timely manner? Not everyone feels the urgency to do this, and that's why I say it would be nice to have someone(again, not just one) who is willing to be responsible for this. You can post a tag now and noone really does it, correct me if I'm wrong KC(if you even want to touch this thread, lol). Why would someone in the Fort want a tag mailed to them if they could and should have them available at these tag matches. You had said in an earlier post that we should "emulate" MHDGC, well, they have tag masters at all of their tag matches. If you check out www.milehighdiscgolf.org/disctalk/viewtopic.php?t=679You will see there are actual people who "run" these tag matches. They work with each other instead of pointing fingers when things aren't running the way they could. Do some research and show me different, but it does take a club to run tag matches, and it takes dedicated members to help the club progress. I'm fairly sure none of this has persuaded you, and that's fine. You can just "show up where"and "when" you want. I will no longer take part in any of this bickering, I consider this discusion over.

I think this thread is safe to touch at the moment... ;D
Yes, you can post your tag. All you need to do is click the "email the webmaster" link, then tell me what you have. I have been posting those as soon as I can.
I hope to get a system similar to what Mile High has going where people can login and post their own tags soon, however I am learning as I go, so no promises!

I'm new. How do the tags work? Could someone get a tag and just disappear? Get number 3 on a lucky round and stop doing matches? Is that why the tag list has big gaps? There's nothing on the site about it, but it's starting to sound like purchasing a tag is synonymous with becoming an official club member. I love the idea of getting tag 347 and beating one of you guys during a bad day! Fat chance though! I'd just scratch of the 4 and the 7 and call myself number 3!!!!! -Michael

You can get a tag from Brandon or Bryan Mac. They run 15-20 and I believe make you an official member. It's a load of fun and a fairly cheap way to compete with friends. Yes someone can get a tag and bolt, sometimes this happens.

When you join the Northern Colorado Disc Golf Club you recieve a bag-tag for an added, competitive, fun element to casual rounds with friends or strangers! You may see someone you don't know with a 2007 NoCo tag you want, and challenge them to a tag match. Generally, they are supposed to oblige the challenge. Tags are $15 this year, and they make you an official member of the club. This is never emphasized enough. You can also buy a club shirt for an additional 5 bucks.
I have tags and t-shirts currently, so let me know if you want one and we can meet up sometime. Just so you know, next year's tags come out in January.

Sorry to be obtuse.....If next years tags come out in January, does that mean everyone buys new tags every year? Or just that the prices will change? Either way, I'm in I guess. Gotta put my money where my mouth is, right!

You are correct. Each year, you renew your club membership for the next season and recieve a new tag as well! Only 3 1/2 months left this season, but plenty of tag matches! Plus, even if you joined on December 31st, then played the last tag match (an annual event we have), you could still snatch the #1 tag to hang on your wall forever! ;D ;D (Edit: Prices may change, however I believe they've never exceeded $20)

Not too sure, but it seems like the team needs to relax and remember that Disc Golf is about having fun on and off the course with friends you make from this great game. It doesn't seem like there is a ridiculous number of members, but from my club back in IL we were all friends. All the way from the junior newbiew to the Pro Masters. It was just one of those kind things. Rarely did anyone every plan a "set" tag match time. It was just kinda given that if you and your buddies didn't feel like playing for doh or anything else play for tags. On top of that, Saturdays seem like a better day to have a group tossing vs. Sunday . That's just my opinion. I love to watch DA BEARS and as much as I love DG I like DA BEARS on sunday better. Also, by being a club member I think there should be some sort of stated or unstated rule that qualifies one to be responsible for tags or handling money. Isn't the club supposed to be a group of local friends that happen to throw plastic at metal? Plus, I'm not really sure what my 15 bucks actually goes/went to, but it's cool to say I'm part of a club. My other club Discontinuum.org (check it out for some cool stuff or advice) cost 15 bucks. I got a free sanctioned club tag tourney out of it, plus a free pizza party at AM Worlds and I get money off of sunking and the club plastic. Plus that I got some cool buddies, some guys that I want to make sure aren't on my card and then some new people to meet. Either way lets play some golf and have good times. I'm tossing at Estes today
