Anyone want to be in ParsecFilms' next video? I'd like to tape some footage in Estes Park this Sunday, Aug 5th. If you'd like to bring your A-game and blast the Park, get a hold of me or post a reply. Sunday league turnout has been pretty thin as of late, because of Worlds- so, maybe we can take a Sunday off and let loose, whilst we LET IT RIDE in Estes. do it. DO IT.

I know this thread is a little old, but I would like to check this course out this week. Not sure if I'm gonna be chucking on sunday due to the BEARS starting their dominating season. Saturday would be a better day to play.

I'm down to play this course whenever anyone's up for it. I'm a slight possibility for Thursday. And if you want to play on Sunday, just tape the game and watch it later. Anyone want to take leagues up there on Sunday? or maybe Snowmountain for a practice day before the tourney? Let's DO IT... DO IT. Snowmountain..DO IT.

We already took Sunday league up to Snow Mtn. a few weeks ago. We are going to play DDC sunday afternoon, so we were thinking league in the Fort... maybe Boltz + back9.
I would love to play Estes sometime though... haven't been there in a while. Maybe Saturday...

Of course we've played Redfeather more than once, it's less than an hour away. Snow Mnt. is over 2 hours away... which is probably why only the three of us were willing to go!
If you're worried about hurting your delicate frame, we'll let you wear your pads, ok Ocho!
Your point about practicing courses before tournaments is well founded though. Most golfers don't do this enough. The touring pros get there early in the week and practice the courses multiple times. Then they take Friday off, so they are fresh. Practicing the courses doesn't just mean playing it either. You should throw multiple shots, try different routes, get comfortable with all the holes. This a far cry from what most people do, which is just show up friday night and play doubles! I encourage you to go practice the course!
But everyone who's still hanging around the Fort on Sunday should come play golf and DDC!

Looks like the dictator has a disciple. What- we can't play the same course twice on Sundays? I wouldn't call you, Jmart, and B as "taking leagues up there." We've played RedFeathers more than twice. We should save DDC for the off-season. I'd rather prep for upcoming tourneys, not injure myself playing DDC, especially after I throw down hundreds on tourney fees and hotels. [glow=blue,2,300]PRIORITIZE.[/glow]SNOWMOUNTAIN....PUEBLO. yes, and I wouldn't call you enough of a Sunday league regular to comment on where/when we should play 'leagues'. We are playing Boltz this Sunday, if others want to go elsewhere, then so be it, it is a free country, on paper at least. I am trying to move away from the last minute, hey let's go to Estes/Red Feather/ etc. I love getting away on Sunday to play these courses, but at the moment I believe we need build a stronger base of players and the way we do that is to get a more concrete schedule with more advance notice for the days we travel. I wouldn't call the 6 ppl last week at RF as 'taking leagues somewhere' either. I realize numbers will be dwindling due to football and fall/winter, but hey I can't make people play golf on Sunday's. I can only try and put the best setup in place so that people know what is happening and hopefully get a more set schedule in place.

Structure is key. If people read the bulletin board(which I know doesn't happen all that much)there is a schedule up there. I do also agree that advertising is huge, and should definitely be done, and done on a consistent basis. Maybe Parsec films can get something on FCPAN that has highlights of Sun. Leagues in all the different locations and in different types of weather. Time of year doesn't really matter, yes numbers dwindle, but I play rain, snow, whatever and I almost always see some other(non-club member)diehard out there. We gotta figure out how to show people it's fun to play no matter the weather, because I really believe that. Maybe it's just me. If there is a set schedule(that is advertised somewhere other than Edora), the possibilities of people showing are greater, however not proof positive. I think everyone has some good ideas and discussion followed by action is what needs to be done to accomplish anything. I think that advertising is definitely a key component, along with structure. Just some thoughts.

maybe the club should look into sponsoring some tourneys this coming year.with the way things are right now the club does not run any sanctioned tourneys and that is the biggest way of advertising. look at mile high they run 4 sanctioned events a year not including winter warriors, ice bowl, ace race, and orange disc and that club gets about 300+ members a year. thay also host "tag matches" at specific courses on specific days. no co is in limbo right now and i agree there needs to be something done to draw more people out to league events. i think the thing to do is have a set amount of cash we donate to tourneys every year spread around ie: steel city(pueblo) a mile high event, grand juction shootout maybe something else around durango. just a thought jm
