I have had a blast playing with old school disc out at Edora and CLP. If you want to challenge your self and have some fun you should try it. I have some disc I can lone out, when I am at the park. Let me know. Thanks Bruce

I will be out this weekend. There will be a old school disc tournament at the end of this year. We had a blast throwing them around last Thursday. Come out and see how this sport started.

We had talked about doing this at the last club leadership meeting, is that the one you refer to Bruce? I am "super" pumped to play one of these tournaments and hope it catches on. Here is a link to the PDGA page describing the new "super-class" classification of events and equipment relating to this style of DG: www.pdga.com/super-classand an article announcing/describing the new format: www.pdga.com/super-class-article

B and I have been playing some super-class rounds lately. He's been using a zephyr and I've been using a super-hero. They are both quality super-class frisbees! If you haven't tried to play golf with a slower super-class style disc, you should give it a go. It will really teach you to throw smooth and should ultimately help your normal disc golf game. I played a super-class round yesterday afternoon and then shot my best round of the summer later that night at League. I think it smoothed out my throw a little bit and helped with my touch on upshots and stuff. Try it!
We are planning on running a super-class tournament later in the year, probably in October or November. We probably won't be able to do much planning for it until after States, but it should be pretty fun! We're still trying to decide what course would be the best to hold it at. We discussed FCHS, Edora, CLP... thoughts? Suggestions?

After all this talk about superclass rounds I had to give it a spin. Went to FCHS with just the SuperHero and shot a +6 for 9 holes , which I felt wasn't too bad considering there was some wind that day. Hard to say what I would have shot without wind, but Grandma's -2 would be tough to match. One positive is that I kept it in bounds nearly the whole time, only going long into OB on hole one (If that's even considered ob with superclass).
