Most all of you on this forum likely know about the tournament at the Buckhorn course this weekend (Memorial weekend) but, I wanted to get it on here for the folks that may not know about it or how to get there. Our set up for this tournament this year is going to be a combination of a "serious" weekend-long tournament, as well as some different options for more casual players or people that may be able to only make it up for part of the weekend. Mostly we just want everyone to feel welcome as we'd like it to be a celebration of the sport more than anything. Anyhow, there is camping provided and a bit of food and beverages as well. Everyone would obviously do well to bring their own food or at the least, something to pitch in to a group BBQ. Should be a good time for all!! Directions: If coming from south Fort Collins, Take Harmony west around Horsetooth Reservoir, through Masonville and continue west into Buckhorn Canyon. Take a left on CR 44H. Continue west on 44H for about 10 miles. At this point you will see a ranger station on your left. The driveway for the course is across the street from this ranger station.
If coming from anywhere north of town, head through Laporte and take a left at Vern's restaurant (CR52). Proceed west through Rist canyon until you reach a T in the road at Stove Prairie School. Take a left at the school and proceed about 4 miles south to CR44H. Take a right and see above directions from this point.

AArrrg! Why are these buckhorn events always scheduled on weekends when there are other events going on in Colorado? There are plenty of open weekends this summer, why conflict?! I never hear about the Buckhorn enough ahead of time, either. I still haven't made it up there. Sounds like a blast! Oh well, maybe next time.

Look, we all know that there are events almost every weekend during the summer. The fact is that we plan these events on weekends where it CAN be an event. A celebration. Plus, we also believe that the Buckhorn course speaks for itself and that people recognize that the tourneys that we have up there are truly a "most fun wins" type of situation. I do understand that pros need to get out to sanctioned, competitive events which we might work towards in the future. Until then, unfortunately, we will have to continue to schedule events that work out for the people organizing them. By the way, as far as ahead of time notice, we will be having a Fourth of July tourney and our annual Labor Day Cow Pie Classic tourney. Plan accordingly
