I have been in contact with the city about how the club could "adopt" Edora. It looks like, for now, a car club is the proud parent of this wonderful park; but, I got NoCo on the waiting list for next year. So as of 2010, NoCo will have "adopted" a park that we already consider ours. The "adoption" lasts for a year and can be extended to 2 years. We would have to do a clean up day once a month, which is relatively easy. I figured that since NoCo does so much (in terms of course maintenance), that it would look good and be good for the club to just take care of the whole park. There will be a sign placed somewhere at the park with the club's name, and I think this will show the city that NoCo will volunteer to help out the park and rec department, in many ways that not only benefit the club, but the park itself. I know that NoCo can do a MUCH better job at cleaning up this park than some Car Club. No disrespect to them, but we all have a much more personal interest in this park. I'll keep everyone posted as the time gets closer.
