I am! I will be driving there from Vermont, so I'll have a car for those who need a lift. I know Randolph is driving out with some people, so that's another car too. Are you trying to ride out with them Patty? If you're flying, I'm sure I can pick you up from the airport and whatever. I think we have a house rented starting on the 8th, So I'll probably roll into town that morning. I think registration closes on the 1st so sign up soon.

Just finished playing the last of the 4 courses that the Open player will play for Worlds. I can say apropriately that they are "world-class" golf courses. For those who are coming out for worlds... or may pass through Southern MI at some point.... you will not be dissappointed. Yesterday, I played Oshtemo and Coldbrook. Oshtemo is, in my opinion, a perfect example of tight but fair fairways. The fairways are very defined on most of the holes. They are grassy and smooth, with minimal BS trees in the middle that take out good shots. The rough, however is very rough, with thick woods and schule. The width of these fairways is demanding but fair, and is proportional to the overall length of the holes. So if the hole is 500ft then the fairway is maybe 40 feet wide, but if it is 200-300ft then it is maybe 20ft wide. There aren't a lot of holes that stand out as signature holes, but every hole is a demanding, punishing, and rewarding, good golf hole. I liked this course a lot. The Beaver Meadows course design could benefit by taking note of these type of fair but tight fairways. Coldbrook was very short and technical. It was good and fun, but I'd be surprised if those are the same pins that they will use in the tournament. It's a 24 hole course, so maybe they will combine some of the shorties. Timber Ridge is an awesome mountain course. It plays along some ski slopes and in some trees as well. Familiar territory for us Colorado folks. This might be my favorite of the courses. The pro par is like 66 or so. I shot a 61 today and felt pretty good about it. There are a lot of 700+ foot holes. A great mix of more open elevation holes and some tighter wooded shots. A lot of fun! Victory Park in Albion, is the nicely manicured city park type course. Some really big trees, some water, but no schule (jail) to get into. Beautiful park! I shot 6 down (48) today, which was decent. This course is somewhere in between Edora and Pueblo in style. Lot of good holes though. Well that's it for those courses.... I'm off to Ohio. I should note now for the record, that I feel pretty good about my ability to play well on all the Worlds courses. So if I don't do well, don't listen to any of the excuses I make up later!

So Evan and Patty are tied at 16 under after 4 rounds at Worlds, putting them tied at 69th. Tonight is the "big shuffle" which splits the field into A pool and B pool. Both Evan and Pat made the cut into A pool (the cool guys pool), nice work guys! Pat must have eaten his Wheaties at lunch Tuesday and again this morning... he shot a 1052 rated round yesterday afternoon, and a 995 today! (I'm guessing the 1052 may have been a freak thing due to the shuffle moving players around in the fields, but it looks sweet!) Keep it up blasters. Way to represent! Scoring from Worlds: Click here

Dave Feldberg wins World's with a lead of 14 strokes on the nearest competitor. That's gotta feel good. No pressure for, basically, the entire last round!
He's got to be a mutant

Agreed, that guy is absurd!!! How 'bout Mike Randolph? WOW!!! Four tournaments this year and takes third at Worlds!! That's pretty darn amazing, too.

Well, we already knew he's a mutant, so... It was really fun checking on Mikey and watching him climb, slowly but surely from (I think it was) around 45th all the way to 3rd! He's our local-ish rockstar for sure.
