I was checking out Discrafts website and I ran across the whole Ace Race tournament. Have we ever thought about running one up here in the Fort? $25 entry fee for 2 proto discs and a marker isnt bad for an entry fee. Here is the link www.discraft.com/events_acerace_08.html

either laporte or use the markers that they supply to set up new tee boxes at Edora.....either way I think that this would be a fun little tourney to do.

Laporte would be a great place for this event, but it might be hard to get in 36 holes when you only have 9 to start with. We could always move the tee boxes on some of the holes at Edora.

this would be super fun- and 2 discs, a marker, a hat, and a good time is well worth $25! do it!

I talked to a couple of guys on my card tonight and they thought it sounded like a good idea. I guess we just need to figure out if this is something that the league is willing to do. It wouldn't really have to be a monthly just a one off thing. I think that we could drum up a good turn out if we had time to advertise it. Im thinking we could really get the rec players out if we pitched it as 2 discs a hat and a marker for $25. I would be willing to do alot of leg work on this if we get the blessing of the club. I know that there is a upfront cost of $17 per players package with a 15 package minimum. What are your thoughts??? Im betting that alot of people would pre register for this so the club would not be out alot of money.

I think with pre-registration it could work out pretty well financially. That would minimize any up front costs the club would be asked to put up.
One issue we run into with major modifications of the course (such as numerous alternate tee's or safari setups) and larger events is the need to reserve the course. This ends up being a significant expense. If Discraft allows it, we could tack on an extra couple bucks to the entry for the course reservation.
We'll be setting up a date for the next club board meeting soon, so maybe you guys could gather more info and we could hash out the details there?

How much is it to reserve the course? I was thinking that each player pack is $18 for the TD to buy and the entry fee is $25 so we would have $7 per package left over. What if we donated that to a local charity and asked the city if we could reserve it for free for a charity tournament?

any progression with this event? i'd love to see it happen!
also, i dunno if anyone's played the TVHS course in loveland but there's multiple holes that are challenging yet doable aces.

Whoops! Sorry to leave the thread hanging.
Rental fees for the course are $120 for the day, plus a $250 refundable deposit.

how many people do you expect might play?
deal with the logistics and cost of registration to play at edora, and have randos poppin in mid game, or drive 30 min to tvhs and play for free with no crowds...
