Hey my name is Rocky and I just moved from Chicago area out to Greeley. I am a student at UNC and was looking to see what courses I should play and if anyone wants to toss a round. PM me or I will probably be out at the Fort Collins courses until I find out more places to go. I play a lot of tourneys and am always down to carpool to them. I played the High Plains challenge last year so someone might be able to recognize me. Any info would be great.

Oh snap! You might wanna change your user name...El Presidente may not welcome you to the club. Ha, ha, just kiddin'...he'll let you in, but not w/o a comment about Umphrey's, or as we refer to them..."Bag O' Tricks." Hey Rocky- did you check out milehighdiscgolf.org? There's a lot of info about CO courses. I recommend joining their club; most of us NoCo blasters are MileHigh members too. What part of the Chi are you from?

Welcome to the Rockies, Rocky! (Sorry, had to do it! ;D ) We've got a great group of players in the area, nearly 80 strong, and there's a good amount of people who like traveling to tournaments as well. A good site to keep up on all the action around the state is the CDSA website. They also list some tournaments of interest in the surrounding states as well. Ocho Cinco is right, one of the states best resources is milehighdiscgolf.org, definitely check out there site. You're best bet for courses is probably to come play rounds with us in FC most of the time since it's close, and when you feel like a short drive, Estes Park (YMCA) has a pretty fun course. You have a short little park course in Greeley, but last I checked it was only 6 holes (reduced from 9). Not bad, but nothing to brag about. Longmont, a little ways to the south, has a decent course as well. And, of course, you're on the way to Fort Morgan, but you know that already. Hope to see you at the course soon. We have our end-of-league party today at 6, Thursday random doubles at Edora, and Sunday league which moves around every week.

Thanks guys. I played the course last year at the YMCA and thought it was fun. I think they moved or took some holes out due to the beetle thing. I will be at leagues tonight and was wonding if anyone is going to adventure ridge this weekend cause I wanted to hit that up. Not sure if that will conflict with a concert in boulder this saturday night. MFA is the name of the band and they are playing at the triliogy. Thanks again and I will have to reg over at the milehigh. See you all soon. Oh I'm from the northwest suburbs of Chicago. The town is called Lake Zurich with no course in it.

The Estes course has remained the same as far as I can tell, one of the few mountain courses not to be altered due to the beetles I run the Sunday leagues, but Tuesdays usually get a better turnout, I guess people like to sleep in, or are just scared of big hairy creatures. SNAP both league turnouts will be getting smaller this time of year though, because of our vicious winters.

Only a Texan (I thought Yeti's are native to the mountains) would think that the winters here are "vicious." Chicago winters are way worse than here on the front range!
Rocky, I grew up in Lake Zurich! My family moved from there when I was about 12. I only ever played a few rounds of disc back then. Is there a course in Arlington Heights area... that sounds familiar... I was just a little tike though. Yeah LZ! - Evan Brummet

ahhh, and it's always back on me... yes some of us answer to our wives and some of us answer to ourselves and sorry that sarcasm cannot be transmitted through typing, i.e. 'vicious', and I'll have you know that the only winter I have experienced here was the the 2ft blizzard in <24 hours in Dec06 that stayed on the ground until March, I call that winter but where I come from we call it like we see it, we don't beat around the BS bush. You can call that unusual for these parts but until I see different...you can fill in the rest. YALL can get off my <case (edit)> whenever YALL are ready. TTD.
