Anyone considering hitting up this A-Tier? It is the same weekend as BG AM Championship and I have personally played both tourneys. The RCR has some of the toughest courses I have ever played, West Park is incredible with long demanding holes with severe water hazards. I have played BG the past 2 years and would like to play it again, however it is just too far of a drive. River Cities Rumble had some big named pro's there last year, Justin Bunnell, Sprague, Olsen, Tank and a bunch of others. I highly suggest putting this one on your calendar. If anyone is interested let me know as I have a bunch of friends from the midwest playing in it. Here are some extra details, as always hit up the pdga for more info A-Tier Davenport, IA Sat-Sun, Mar 29-30, 2008

Sounds fun, but I promised myself I wouldn't travel too far away this year. (Gotta save funds)
When you say demanding, do you mean tight trees, or long holes? (or both?)
Maybe in a few years I can make it out. Haven't traveled to the midwest for a tourney yet.

Looks sweet. Some beautiful foliage and well designed holes from what I can gather from the pics. I want to play that Westpark course. Mainly for the two holes that play across the dam! Nasty and long... Yeah, not this year, but soon! Solitude is a little over 6 hrs from here, and is hands down my favorite tourney of the year (except when KTS is on ). Great weather, amazing scenery, no one but golfers in a mountain resort setting, three days of one round a day, tee-times, badass players, big payout. It's our USDGC qualifier for the region this year too!

I don't know exactly how long it takes to get there I know that from my house, chicago it was like 3 or so hours. and it took me 13 hours to drive to greeley, so I guess more like 10 hours. Either way think about it, a quality quality growing A-Tier.

I might be interested in going to this tourney... That's the weekend before the first sanctioned tournament of the season in CO. Are you planning on playing yourself? Is the weather warm enough yet in IA in March? Yeah Pat's right, if you made it from Chi-town in 13 hours, you must have been driving like 110mph! But yeah whatever... the courses look sick...

It takes me 7.5 to get to Omaha and another 4 to get to Iowa City....thats 11.5. And I believe its like a 1-2 hour drive from Iowa City to Davenport. So.... 12.5-14. Realistically that's not too bad. I will go to this tourney at some point....West Lake looks ridiculous

Nice ED... I think I'm down... what are the specifics of that train situation ?(cost? time? etc.) With school, I'll have to time my trip kinda specifically... I can Miss school on Friday but I don't really want to miss two days of school... which means I would probably have to drive back after golf Sunday night and get in real late/early... not sure if a train would work for that kind of thing... also if I go I would want to get a look at the courses before the tournament... which means I would need to get there friday, early enough to play.... I don't know, let's work it out... who else wants to go!?!

Don't think the people train runs out of Cheyenne. Only the pig train runs out of Cheyenne.

Big bummer, they Quad Cities DGC has announced that the tournament is going to be rescheduled due to a the possibility of the parks service canceling the event because of poor ground conditions at West Lake Park. As of right now it is really wet and with the recent slam of snow the midwest has gotten they predict it to be flooded.
On a brighter note the tourney should be held later on this year with warmer temps in mind. Hopefully this will give people a chance to decide if they want to go. I know that I got a spot for me and a couple of others to crash if they want to head out to it.
