August 7 Disc Golf TV has a cool clip from pro worlds 2007. It's Mike Randolph (CO player) draining a big putt in the final 9. Listen closely for the sounds of the shotgun right before and after he putts. (They were using shotgun blasts all week for the two minute warning and the start of the round.) I think everyone in attendance was thinking what I was.. why the hell were they firing that shotgun during the round? discgolftv.com/dgtv/282/wmv/newest?channel_id=0&page=1Here's another one from worlds from August 8 I played with this guy the second round of the tournament, and as you can see in the clip the wind was rippin that round. This hole was one of the coolest out there. you had to have a short (but accurate) drive to lay up where he did, or you could try to get it into the mouth the tunnel (risking ending up in the "shule" and not having a shot to the basket). The bushes/trees on the side are hellish all over that course. Any deeper in and he probably wouldn't have had a shot out. This is a good example of a two-part golf hole, as opposed to the park and putt stuff we have out here. discgolftv.com/dgtv/283/wmv/newest?channel_id=0&page=1

Quote from DGTV page: "Mike Randolph (#6138) played well all week at the 2007 Pro Worlds. His 4th place finish was ensured when he beat David Feldberg and Josh Anthon in a one hole playoff to make the last spot for the final nine. Mike took $1800 back to Denver. The shotgun was used to scare off a bear that was too close to the action."
Well, there's your answer about the shotgun... What will they think of next? Adding bears to frisbee golf seems like a blatant attempt at increasing media attention!! SHAME
just kidding
