I have been playing phone tag with Leanne with parks and rec, for the past couple of weeks, about the club sponsoring a clean up day at Edora. She wanted to know how many people would be attending and said this could go towards volunteer hours for the park.
So, my question to anyone and/or everyone is, how many of you would be interested in doing something like this? I want to do it while my wife and kid are out of town, so it would most likely be on Saturday the 25th of July. I would assume most people would be more willing to start mid-morning(10:00-11:00), but it may be better to do it earlier(8:00-9:00), due to heat and crowds. I suppose we could also do it later in the evening and then, if parks gives the ok, have a glo-round afterwards.
If we were to do an evening clean up, we could even do it that Friday, the 24th. I'd be willing to donate t-shirts to the first 15-20 people, to help draw in a larger crew.
This is still tenative and nothing is set in stone. So, if anyone has any ideas and/or suggestions, I'm all ears. Let me know what you guys think.

Agreed. I'd love to take part. It will go a long way in further showing our concern to keep the park clean. We know, on average, most disc golfers are pro-active about trash on the course, but they probably aren't convinced of this yet.

So the clean up day will be Saturday, July 26th. We will be meeting at Hole 1/practice basket. I'd like to start by 9:30-10ish, so this will make it necessary for people to get there around 9ish. If the majority of us are interested in coming out earlier, great by me. I want to start as early as possible, so that we can try and avoid the heat and the crowds that start to come in around 11. I was also thinking it would be fun, if people were interested, to go up to Beaver Meadows, afterwards. It should be a lot cooler up there and a lot less crowded as down here. Let me know if you are interested in one or both of these. I would like to get a head-count of who all will be coming out. Thanks in advance to all of you who plan on coming out, this will be a great opportunity for the club to give something back to Edora. Adios 4 now, Jeff S

Jeff,
I will be in Cheyenne for most of the next 3 weeks, but will make a good effort to get down here to help on clean up day. Thanks for doing this; partnering with the city on these sorts of things goes a long way towards improving DG's status in FC. Volunteerism is what makes DG work all over the country, and it is what separates DG from most other sports / activities. I hope you get a good turnout.

I was planning on coming out today but my wife is helping her mom with something and I have kid duty. If she gets back early enough I will head out.

Thanks to KC, Doug Allen, and Pat Lien for coming out and participating in the clean up. Overall the park was in really good shape. If we all pick up at least two pieces of garbage or maybe ten cigarette butts, the park will stay in respectable shape. I think that most of us do this. But if all of us do this, we will very rarely, if ever, need to have clean up days.
Thanks again to KC, Doug, and Pat.

You forgot to include yourself, Mr Jeff Schleich. Thanks for coming out! And thanks for organizing the activity, bringing sodas, donuts, etc for the volunteers! You rock!
The clean up went very smooth, and we were able to play an all putter round as we walked the park, too. Thankfully, there wasn't too much trash to deal with; we do pretty well as a community with day to day cleanup. The cigarette butts were bad though. Please don't throw these on the ground people, they're a pain to pickup.
