Howdy,
A few weeks ago someone at Edora told me about the new River Ranch disc golf course near Johnstown. I've played it a few times now, and have never seen anyone else on it. Great on weekends for quick play. Very easy, all baskets are in short positions now, but most have B & C placements, trees are mostly sapplings...the biggest challenge is wind, most holes are about CLP length, fair amount of water hazards. LOTS of goat head stickers, take your towel off your bag and clip it to your belt!
Anyone know more about this course? Is it public or private? Who has a basket key? (it would be really nice to have at least some baskets not in the easiest placement) Does a map exist? (there are a few really long walks between holes that make finding the next hole a challange)
If you want to check it out: take HWY 402 exit off I-25 (first exit south of Loveland/Greely), take east side of I-25 service road North to River Ranch Estates (multiple entrances), head towards the old grain Silo in a small park with playground and Picnic pavilion. The first tee pad (concrete!) is about 30 ft. north of the Silo. You can see the Silo/park from I-25.
Hints: All pads have marker poles, all baskets marked. 6 is north east across street from 5. For 7 take road south of 6 east about a block, pad is on your left as you walk east. For 14 cross street and follow wall/sidewalk north west. For 18 cross street north toward hole 5.
Fun course, great views, no crowds (hope I didn't ruin that).
Anyone with info or answers to my above questions please post.
Thanks!

sweet tees, baskets, and tee posts, bummer the course isn't challenging, safari would be sweet out there. Don't bring your dog, bad on their feet. Its going to be hot out there in the summer. It will be sweet if they fill the ponds up full with water. Thanks for posting about it I hadn't heard of until today and went and checked it out.
