okay- I spoke with a couple of club members about this but I wanted to share with everyone. I have an assignment for my last rec class and it is to write a Grant for a club or organization in need. I figured I could help out noco by writing a grant for them.
What was suggested of need was some benches or recycling bins at the tee pads. I was wondering if any upper club official would be willing to help me out in regards to what exactly is needed the most. I can write this grant for up $2,500 I believe. Please contact me and let me see if I can be of any help. I am sure the club needs money to improve the course. So any way I can be of help would be great. 2 birds 1 stone here, help the club and complete an assignment.
Thanks - Rocky

Rocky, I'm not a club leader but have been involved in advancement of DG in Fort Collins and Cheyenne. One of the things the Cities look for are contributions and help from the DG community, kind of a "partnering" of the community with the city. Bill Wright is working on a design for a new course at Hughes Stadium, which will require the planting of hundreds of trees to make the course at all attractive. Also, some of the trees at Edora have been damaged by the massive numbers of people playing the course over the years. A donation by the club of $2500 or any portion thereof to the city for trees, benches etc. would go a long way towards improving the club's rapport with the city, would demonstrate significant partnering, and thus would advance DG interests. Without trees, the sport is nothing. Trees offset carbon emissions. Trees are good for the club, the larger DG community, and the city.
Just my two cents worth.
Thanks for considering the club's needs for your project, d**n thoughtful of you.

Rocky, I'm totally on board. I just joined the forum and didn't realize how much cools stuff was on here. Are we too late for this project? I'll call you and see what's up. Thanks for the offer, it would be sick if this could work out.
