I think we should have a thread dedicated to tales of amazing frisbee feats. A place where everyone can come to boast of any notable accomplishments out on the course. Just got a good ace? Let it be known! Shot a smoking score? Let's hear it. Claim a high tag number? Whatcha got? Anything crazy, impressive, funny, or bizarre... post it here! I love to share tales of the crazy things that can happen with these round plastic things, and I'd love to hear everybody else's stories as well! As NoCo's resident storyteller, I'll start the ball rolling. The most impressive feat I've heard of out on the course this season may have been: Brandon Elder aced hole 14 at Edora!... in the Long Position!... With a big Hyzer OVER all the trees on the right!... Now that's a nice hyzer. (sorry to brag for you B, but it doesn't seem right to start the thread just to brag of something myself... though of course that is ultimately my intention) Next?...

Here's one for you: A couple of Tuesdays ago, during league, we were playing hole 5. Vince clunked a tree and was taking his upshot. When he released, his disc collided in mid-air with someone else's drive from 9. I had never seen two discs collide(on a course), it was pretty crazy. He played it as if he had hit an obstacle. I've seen discs collide while playing with multiple ultimate discs, but never incidental collisions on a course while in play.

Well, I realize I posted this elsewhere... but it's one of my few accomplishments I think worthy of the board so here it is :-D
Hey all,
Sometime in March I was playing Edora and launched my star wraith off of #2 (348 ft hole position i believe, so it looks just to the right of the trees?) just a hint of anny... sexy little s curve, up, and CHING! WHHHHHHHHAAAAAA!?!?!?! YEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!
Made my disc golfing year.
So we cruise around, nothing special, still giddy and laughing...
step up on 7, center whole position between the trees threw a solid hyzer with the champion orc... up, over the creek, cruised around the right side, nice sharp fade and CHING! WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAA!?!?!?!
At this point i crapped my pants jumping back and forth over the fence past the basket on 6
wild round... even with those beautiful 1's in the scoring column still only ended up -2 but you know, i didn't let it dampen my spirits ;-)
2 Hole in ones within 28 minutes of each other... I may as well retire :-D

Since Dan B (Condor) doesn't post on here much, if at all, I'll throw out there what I heard yesterday.
Apparently, he ended up "Cali" (meaning the odd man out) in Random Draw Doubles. When you're Cali, to make up for not having a partner, you are able to take two shots on each hole. Rumor has it he proceeded to shoot 16 under par. Say what? Yes that's right, 16 down!
Dang, he's good!
By the way, great thread idea Grandma! I'm sticky-ing it right now...

-16!! Proud of you Dan, wherever you are...
and just to clarify, in Cali you get an opportunity to take 2 shots on one particular shot(drive, approach, etc), the rest of the shots on the hole you only get one crack at.... correct?

Normally, when playing Cali, you get one extra shot per hole, whether you choose to use it on the drive or putt or whatever. However, since its doubles, we usually give the person the option of paying an extra $5 ($10 total) to be able to throw 2 shots on every shot (2drives, 2putts etc.). I assume that Dan payed his extra $5. This is kinda funny, because I ended up being Cali for doubles last week and I shot -15. But I give it up, Dan took me down. On the topic of hot doubles rounds at Edora (though Cali isn't really doubles): I believe the doubles course record is still -17 (unless anyone knows differently). A.J. Kolarsick and I shot -17 a few years back at Thursday dubs. The one hole we missed was #16 in the far left position... before the sidewalk was there! (like the easiest hole on the course) Still, -17 is not bad... there is room for improvement though.

I've been playing a lot of rounds with just my putter lately because my middle finger is kinda messed up and hurts to throw drivers...
Anyway, I birdied hole 6 at Boltz with just a putter! I rolled my wizard down there and made a nice put around the big willow. Gotta be my longest birdie ever with just a putter! I shot -6 for that 9 with just a putter too, which is also notable.

I aced number 11 (Edora) in the short position a few months back with a Classic Aviar. I had hit the chains 4 times in the proceeding weeks without getting one to stay in but finally hit it dead center.
My fondest shot was on Edora hole 1 long position. Tried to cut close to the trees on the left side of the tee box to ensure the disc would be open for my approach, but I hit one of the trees close to the tee box and it fell just left and behind the tree. Threw a slight hyzer (forehand) under the tree canopy down by the 4 pine trees separating hole 1 and 2. I was too close to trees for a conventional shot, so I threw my Classic Aviar Putter (flip shot) to the left of the pin, and the disc flattened out at the way down and came back to the right and buried in the basket (long location) saving par. The 3 guys I was throwing with could not believe that it went in and the 4 guys on the first tee were cheering too.

In spring of 2007 when I first started playing this game I went to Edora filled with the determination to succeed at the sport.
The first hole seemed pretty daunting with all those trees in my way, but I decided to throw every disc I had just to see the results.
To my astonishment I was slamming one ace after another!
I made five in a row!
Five!
So there I was dancing around, hooting and hollering at my great achievement.
Just then, a man walked up and said "Ma'am ya can't ace that basket, ya just can't".
I stood there in stunned silence, searching his eyes for the reason.
I asked him why, and he said "We'll ma'am, that's the practice basket!".
D'OH!

watched ballmer on hole 5 at edora in the position by the creek throw his drive into the middle of the pines right off the tee. then threw a skip side arm, possibly off of a knee, and then field aced the d**n thing. crazy!. it was close to a 200 ft shot from there and it skipped! unreal skin save

I heard a story that this guy Brandon aced hole 14 in the LONG position, oh wait, we already covered that one, sorry, I just can't get over how awesome this guy must be. I also heard he can't putt though.
