Yeah, me too! It's gonna be fun!
I posted the most current standings for the Monthlies, which includes the most recent June event. You can link to it from the Event Results page.

I was thinking about running a random-draw doubles on Saturday before the Monthly, but didn't want to go up there early unless there were players interested. This would be a great way for any out-of-towners (and locals who haven't made it up there yet) to check out the course beforehand. Also, it would be fun camping out with everyone up there before tourney day.
Would anyone be interested in this? If so, let me know soon so I can post it/promote it outside of the forums.
Thanks!

ok- i have a campsite for sat. the 5th, seems like they're just about full. i'll be up there around 11am on sat, spend the night, and be there till mid day sunday.
so i guess my entry fee would be $10 since i'm staying overnight? i'll bring more if someone can get me a tag and shirt... anyone else have a campsite?

the monthly event will take all day sunday, we are playing 2 rounds, so I hope you are planning on staying later than mid day sunday. Green fees are $5/day as well, don't know but you might be able to play for free if you camp??

just got back- what an excellent little vacation! after playing all 18 on sat. i just didn't have it in me for TWO more on sun! i'll definitely be back- this is my 2nd favorite course behind estes' Y, although it was the hardest 1st round i've ever had (68). dramatically improved the 1st 9 on sun though. folks at beaver meadows couldn't be better and they're obviously serious about their course- loved the free access to the paddleboats!
anyone sink it for a free beer? how many shots spent on the potable basket?

Satori, glad to hear you had a good time. Was there a good showing of people? Did they cook lunch for ya?

anyone sink it for a free beer? how many shots spent on the potable basket? I believe 2 people aced the beer hole, Lugo and someone else, although the latter didn't get it on the first shot, so no beer. I don't know if Lugo got a beer out of his. As far as the portable basket... wrong question to ask. I'm only kidding, but really... No sooner had we set up the basket, on that elevated pile of rocks, than Gomez starts talking trash about how "nobody bother getting up to throw, I'm gonna hit it right now", and "All I need is one shot at it", and proceeds to float his first shot directly into the basket. No one else had even shot yet, but everyone got a chance to try to hit it to "tie" him. That and he won the tourney too! It was pretty unbelievable.

I would like to thank NCDGC for holding your July monthly event here at Beaver Meadows. I was hoping to get the new records which are now official records for our course. Please send us the record for each level of participant (marvin@beavermeadows.com). Again thanks for your support.

If you're talking about Jay and Des Reading, apparently their round was cut short by lightning, so no records set that day. This is just what I've heard. I think Mike Gomez's 52 really is the best to date.
