The land across the street from New Belgium is sweet. No real elevation changes, however many trees where mandos and the sort could be used. I believe they were discussing the possibility of putting a course in here and ran into liability issues. It does look like a fun place to have a course. We should look into this a little closer and maybe discuss a course of action at the next meeting. If ya get a chance to, swing by there and drive around it.

Went by here yesterday since my car was at NiceCar. They're having some kind of Sustainable Living fair there this weekend which gave me three ideas: 1. Good chance New Belgium owns the land (or is in good with the land-owner). 2. Reiterated that New Belgium is all about community advocacy, especially when involving energy-frugal activities. 3. "The New Belgium Nine" Does anybody know more about this land? Or does anybody already have a connection within the company? I would guess that the Wright Life folks have dealt with them a lot and could be a good first start in terms of getting names and stuff. Any thoughts? -Michael

Don't know too many details, but it's called the "Oxbow property" or something similar.
Looks like there could be a badass nine holer, or a cheese-moe 18 (wouldn't recommend that). Great proximity to downtown, and we all know how good beer and disc golf go together! NB already sponsors the club and DG in general quite well.
I do not know any details, though.
Next year let's get a booth at the fair to loan discs to fairgoers, set up maybe 3-9 holes over there, and get some serious outreach going! Those people are ripe for disc golf!

coloradoan.com/news/coloradoanpublishing/poudre/develop.htmlKC, Thanks for sparking my memory. I knew I had read something about that property in the past. Here's a link to an old Coloradoan article about how there's been an effort to build both a music venue and a whitewater park on the property. The city is pretty cognizant about keeping the active outdoor theme, so I don't think incorporating a disc golf course into the property is necessarily out of the question, regardless of development. Someone will have to find out who the key players are and where the proposals are at this point in time. Here's a quote from the article, from a city council member: "If developments are built along the river, they should take into account the river's beauty and importance to the community, he said." Sounds like recreation in a natural setting to me!
