Me and Doug Allen got invited by Koz to go play Jim Cannon's mansion course on Saturday, and what an interesting experience. He also owns the Deer Mountain course which is always an instant fave after people play it. The course is 18 holes in the middle of Lakewood on only 8 1/2 acres! Probably the least amount of land that any course in the state is on. The wierd thing is it took 3/12-4 hours to play and it felt as if we were covering a lot more ground than that. The highlights are an island hole that plays out to a homemade floating island on a lake at the end of his boat dock...CRAZY! and two holes that you have to climb a ladder and take your tee-shot off of his boat house!! Good times with a lot of very crazy technical shots, a lot of lake and creek ob and some very interesting abstract art to throw around. Its definately the most eclectic course I have ever seen with a good mix of shots on a very interesting piece of land. I was able to tie the course record of -4 with Koz right there who had it before. I hit an ace with three holes to go to get to -5 but the island took one of my ace challengers and a stroke from me but it was worth it b/c I got to go swimming to look for it...I figured I had to post this b/c I have never even heard of this course until Koz called and I know he will be running tourneys there and at Deer Mountain again in the future...all in all a great experience and would recommend that anyone go play if they get the chance!

I saw some pictures of this course, sounds bizzare!
The island hole looks fun in the pictures. Did it play tough, or should you be able to park it everytime?

Not sure where they were, it was someone's online photo gallery. Maybe Jeff Panis? Can't remember, it's been awhile...
