I got to play this course about 10 miles north of CO Springs the other day, and am definitely glad I made the trip down.
It's on private property in a little town near the Springs called Black Forest. The property owner is only allowing access to PDGA, Pikes Peak, and CDSA members and their guests. No smoking or drinking is allowed on the course.
It's a pretty long course, with a par of 64 on 19 holes. I had a good round going until the last four holes (it got completely dark out), and ended up shooting a 63. I feel like if I had daylight the whole way through, that could have been 2-3 strokes better.
Mostly, its a very wooded course, with tight fairways and multiple routes through the trees. Moderate elevation change on maybe a third of the holes, with some well guarded greens, a few with rollaway angles. I don't feel like the course favors righty's over lefty's, or vice versa, and it seemed like most holes had a few options off the tee. 2's have to be earned, and 3's are quite difficult on probably 5 or 6 of the holes. Look out for the 750' hole 7. It's a tube about 375' downhill, then the rest of the way uphill through some trees.
Most (17 of 19) baskets are double-chain discatchers, but they are still tough to see from the tee's. I recommend bringing someone who has played it (like me!) down there to show you around. We spent probably an extra hour walking up fairways trying to find where we were going.
There is food less than a mile from the course, which was nice since we were trying to squeeze in two rounds. I saw a bar, Subway, and an italian food/pizza place very close by.
