Who's in? How are you getting there, and where are you staying? I can't wait to play Highbridge Hills Sports Complex. Looks like it's got some of everything. They have six courses cut out right now, four 18 holers in play already, and 4 more scheduled to go in in the future. All on the same property! ::drooling:: You can even rent an off road go-cart looking thing to ride in. Check it out: www.highbridgehillssc.com/KC

I'm planning on going. I'm probably going to be up there working at a skateboard camp in the same area for the week prior to Worlds. Hopefully I'll have time to cruise over and get a few extra practice rounds in that way. I'll definitely be there full time a few days ahead though. I still haven't decided what I'm doing for a place to stay. I know there are a few Denver guys who said they are going... Koz is renting a nice place up there... and I think Stip. has some family up there... I definitely want to keep costs down as much as possible though. Things can get pretty costly when you are there for like over a week! It should be fun though!

The only thing that's held me back from registering is not knowing who's going. If you are both going, and want to split costs on stuff, I'd be able to afford it for sure.
Evan, will you be driving out to the skateboard camp in your car? It would be nice to have a vehicle up there to cruise around in, but I wouldn't have enough time off work to drive up there and back. With three people splitting it, a rental wouldn't be terribly expensive either.

It looks like my plans might be falling through for that trip... so I'm up in the air right now. If I do play Worlds I'll probably just be going out for that. I would still probably drive regardless. I'm pretty broke right now too, which could be a factor. If I go, I'm happy to drive anyone around who needs a ride and all that. I'll let you know when I figure it out.

okay, so I was unaware that there was no waiting list this year, so I would like to get plans sorted out as soon as possible, and get signed up. What do yall plan for lodging and travel, it's a 1200 mile drive, so I might consider flying and renting a car, as for lodging Stip mentioned his family's place once before but have not spoken to him recently about it, camping is available on the Highbridge property, but lugging camping gear on a plane could be a pain as well. Lots of things to decide about, let's get some plans worked out soon!

So my original plan of working at a skateboard camp near Worlds look to be back on. So my plans are to Drive out to Ohio to play the Brent Hambrick NT event in mid/late July, then cruise up north with my brother to the skate camp near Highbridge, hang out there for a week (maybe stopping over now and then to play the courses) and then being on site for Worlds full-time about 3-4 days prior to the start of the tournament.
So I'm in! I'll have my car out there ahead of time, so I can hook up with anybody who wants to fly in and provide transportation. I highly advise getting there at least a couple days ahead of time to practice the courses. It's a big, long, and expensive event... if you're gonna do it, you gotta do it right.
I'm not sure what I'm doing for a place to stay up there yet. We should all figure it out together... maybe I'll give Randolph or Koz a call and see what they're doing... I don't have Stip's number, but I want to talk to him about his place up there that he mentioned before... If we have enough people it might not be horribly expensive to rent a room for the week... what are your thoughts on all that guys?? - Evan

the cheaper the better, if I am going to be gone over a week, it needs to be economical, if you will already have a car, that would be great, cause I will be flying in most likely. If you are definitely going to be there, then I will get signed up as soon as possible.

I agree, cheaper the better.
I am in if I can ride with you around the area, Evan. A rental car might just make it too expensive to be worthwhile for me. I would be flying in as well, so I'd probably need a ride from the airport. Brandon, we should coordinate flights so that we arrive at the same time, roughly.
I will see what is available for rooms, and I remember Stip saying camping in his backyard would work too, but that was a long time ago. I think Koz has gotten a pricey place in the "olympic village" if I remember right.

Where will you guys be flying into? I'm not sure what the nearest airport is... I know this place is kinda out in the middle of nowhere. I'll definitely have my car there and can provide transportation for us all during the trip... even if we are in different pools, it shouldn't be bad because I think the courses are all in pretty much the same place.
If you guys are both flying in, then you should definitely try to time it so I don't have to make multiple trips to the airport ( I got a feeling it might be a bit of a drive ).
There is a lot of info on various lodging options on the Worlds website, so you guys should check that out... Personally, I'm not too excited about camping. I expect it will be pretty hot, humid, and bug-infested in Northern Wisconsin that time of year... showers and A.C. and all that will be a must. I'm gonna be pretty broke too, but I'm willing to pay for that. A half/hour drive in the morning really isn't that bad if it saves us some cash... check that stuff out!

cool, lets make this happen. I can probably swing a room, maybe we can find something cheap if we all pitch, I will talk to my sponsor and see what I can get.

I agree, Evan. Youre point on the bugs/heat etc is well taken. Lets split a room. Whatever we get, it has to have a hot tub though!
Evan, if youre willing to hook us up with rides to/from the airport, Im sure we can coordinate so its only one trip for you. I don't mind sleeping in the airport for a while if needed. I do want to get 2-3 practice days in though, so I'd like to arrive early.

You guys get registered yet? Did you lock down our hotel room B? Have you guys got your plane tickets yet? I think the St. Paul airport is like 3 hours from the site. Duluth is only like an hour if you can fly into there, but whatever works out. I'm leaving town here on Wednesday, so let me know what's up. - Evan
