For a variety of reasons, we have decided not to use the new Oxbow disc golf course in Windsor for the St. Patty's Day Meltdown tournament. I apologize for the change of plans at this late date. The format will remain the same, but with all rounds at Edora Park: 2 Rounds of 21 on Saturday, and 1 Round of 21 on Sunday with tee-times (stagger-start).
The new Oxbow course is coming along nicely, and the baskets will likely go in sometime this weekend. The tee-pads are also expected to be completed this weekend, though the actual tee signs and other refinements are probably weeks away. I’ll make a separate announcement, when the course is ready for play and truly open to the public. We greatly appreciate the hard work that has gone into the new course, but we decided it won’t be complete in time for people to practice it before the tournament. Plus we don’t want to overload the course with 100 people before it is really done and ready to handle that. For those and other minor considerations, we decided it would be better for the sake of the new course, as well as the tournament, to just stay at Edora for all 3 rounds. Once the course is truly finished, we’ll probably host a small Opener event there, so look for that in the months to come.
The Edora layout for the tournament will be the 21-hole “St. Patty’s Layout” similar to what we’ve used in the past. It will basically be the normal Edora 18, but with 6 and 7 combined into one hole, as well as 10 and 11 combined. Then there will be 5 extra holes using the “old section” of the park on the west side. We’ll try to post a tournament map sometime in the next few days. The course should be in its tournament positions all next week, and the extra holes will be flagged, so you can play them without the baskets if you want. Again, sorry about the change of plans, but it’s for the best. Thanks for your understanding! If you have any questions or concerns about the tournament, feel free to contact Brandon Elder or myself.
Peace, - Evan Brummet

That quite all right. It may be more fun to have a Sunday round @ Edora anyways. Quick question: Do you have enough extra seating available for the 6-7 and A-C areas? For everybody that has one, bring a portable seat!!

We've posted a map of the approximate tee and pin placements for the tourney. For those looking to practice the extra holes, I'm told they've been marked out at the course, so with the map in hand you should be able to find them without too much trouble. Tournament Layout

Many times there will be a backup of a couple groups on a hole. If you have a portable stool you can attach to your bag or carry, its always a good idea to bring along. We won't be providing any additional seating above what is already on the course.

Hello all, while practicing this past weekend (3-13-10) I accidentally left one of my discs on the fairway of hole 12. I was throwing multiple discs and forgot to pick this one up. I went back 5 minutes later and I was already gone. I strongly believe in karma and hope I get this disc back. I would be happy to offer a reward for it! It has my nickname "Qtip" and my PDGA # stamped on it "# 29703". Please if you have it or happen to see it I will happily offer a reward or a give you two discs for my one disc! This disc was a gift and has sentimental value! Thank you!

This is my first tourney, just wanted to confirm that a guest could walk the course with me during the tourney or if teams are restricted to playing members only. Thanks!

Generally, players are allowed a caddie.... but you are responsible for your caddies actions.... if he/she breaks a rule you are penalized.....
only rule that would come into play most likely is courtesy....
PDGA Rules:
801.01 Courtesy
D. Players are responsible for the actions of their caddies. Players shall receive warnings and penalties (where applicable) for the actions of their caddies.

Almost tourney time!
I am currently putting together an email to notify players of the proposed schedule for the weekend, so stay tuned for that. To answer Tom's question, yes, doubles will start at noon, and continue until about 4 pm. I will be hanging out at the course all day and will allow people to start checking in and heading out for doubles at noon. If you can check in Friday, please do! This will make my life and my staff's lives that much easier for the weekend. Doubles will be flex start, so as soon as one team has another team to play the round with, you can head out. I'll head out with my partner and the last group around 4 to make sure we have enough daylight to finish. Any questions about the weekend can be directed to my email or phone. Peace.

Will we be playing the same layout all 3 rounds? Last I heard it will change between Saturday and Sunday. I saw multiple placements painted on holes A-E, so look for those while walking the course Friday. Not sure the plan for which holes will move, though, and much of that will be weather-dependent, I'm sure.
